IRIDESENSE: 3D Multispectral LiDAR Sensor

IRIDESENSE introduces the first 3D Multispectral LiDAR sensor, a revolutionary tool for real-time, remote monitoring of plant health and soil moisture, enhancing agricultural productivity and resource efficiency.

Description

The IRIDESENSE 3D Multispectral LiDAR Sensor marks a significant advancement in agricultural technology. This state-of-the-art sensor integrates cutting-edge LiDAR technology with multispectral analysis, offering a comprehensive solution for monitoring and analyzing agricultural environments.

Unparalleled Precision in Agricultural Analysis

  • High-Resolution 3D Imaging: The sensor’s capacity to produce high-resolution images far surpasses traditional 2D cameras. This feature is crucial for detailed and accurate monitoring of crops and soil, providing vital data for informed decision-making.
  • Advanced Moisture and Health Measurement: IRIDESENSE excels in remotely measuring soil moisture and plant health. This capability is vital for optimizing irrigation strategies, leading to significant water savings and enhanced crop yields.

  • Robust SWIR Spectral Analysis: The sensor’s Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) technology is a game-changer, allowing for precise chemical composition analysis without the need for calibration. This feature enables the sensor to differentiate between various materials and states, such as moisture levels and plant health, with unprecedented accuracy.

Diverse Applications in Multiple Industries

While primarily beneficial for agriculture, IRIDESENSE’s versatile nature makes it applicable in several other fields:

  • Agriculture and Forestry: It’s instrumental in species and pest monitoring, crop growth analysis, and efficient resource management.
  • Construction and Mining: The sensor aids in polluted soil sorting, exploration, and 3D cartography.
  • Waste Management and Logistics: It plays a significant role in waste segmentation and 3D cartography.

Technical Specifications

  • Effective Range: The sensor’s operational range extends up to 300 meters, providing broad coverage for large agricultural fields. The high range of 300m (200m @10% reflectivity) is enabled by the proprietary solid state SWIR laser technology with higher power density allowed compared to visible wavelengths. This also provides 10 times higher resistance to sun blooming.
  • Dimension and Weight: With a compact size of 142 mm (H) x 220 mm (W) x 192 mm (L) and a weight of 3.5 kg, the sensor is easily integrable into various setups.
  • Power and Efficiency: Operating at 60W, it strikes a balance between power efficiency and performance.
  • SWIR Emission: The sensor emits light in the 1400-1700nm SWIR range. This allows higher optical power density compared to visible light while still being eye-safe. Many materials also have unique absorption bands in this spectral range that can be used for recognition and classification.
  • Laser Specs: Proprietary robust and low cost solid state laser technology producing peak powers >3kW, nanosecond pulses, at a high pulse repetition frequency of 500kHz. The wideband SWIR emission combined with high peak power enables long-range sensing.
  • 3D Capability: At each measurement frame, the SWIR laser beam is scanned at different positions in space. This high resolution instantaneous sampling allows perception of both static and dynamic scenes in true 3D.
